Driving with HID Headlamps
High-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps have several advantages over tungsten-halogen headlamps,
including greater light efficiency (lumens per watt) and longer life.
However, from the safety point of view, the primary attraction of HID headlamps is that, because they
produce more total light, they have the potential to provide more useful illumination to the driver.

Bi-Xenon HID bulbs are designed for cars that utilize a single bulb for both high and low beams. The stock halogen bulbs used in these cars have two filaments in them. When the filament at the high position is lit, the high beam is on. When the filament at the low position is lit, the low beam is on. But, For HID bulbs, which do not have filaments, it's a totally different story. Bi-xenon HID bulbs have a built-in solenoid that can move the bulbs to the high and low positions simulating the stock halogen filament scenario, and thus convert BOTH high and low beams to xenon HID with just one bulb. Simply put, if your car uses a single bulb for both high and low beams.
